Cosmos is an interesting Greek word. It is no doubt based on the verb “komeo” which is "to take care of, provide for, to take up or carry away in order to care for and preserve for one’s self what is one’s own.”

It is often correctly translated “world” as it is a place of escape from the harm of space. It is a creation of safety and providence. Out side of the “Goldilocks Zone” in which the earth is so precisely placed, space is very inhospitable. You are either cooked or frozen.

The wobble of the earth, wind, precipitation, solar activity, gravity, the vacuum of space, water tension, rotation of the planet, water currents and countless other variables all must be balanced to maintain the environment of our planet. The master of such extremes can only be the creator. Only such a great engineer could understand how to rebalance the system that our disobedience unbalanced.

If it wasn’t for the seasonal tilt of the planet, the extremes of cold and hot areas of the planet would be so tremendous that very little of the earth would be fit for human habitation. That is not even considering how such a lack of wobble would effect weather conditions. Talk about climate change! The extreme weather would no doubt destroy any chance that life would have in those two small tracts of “habitable” land.

It is ironic, in our futile attempt to extinguish the clarity of God’s providence, we invent such incredible illusions of grandeur. If we would just consider the power of the extremes that must be balanced, our puny influence is but a minute vapor in comparison. To continue in such a denial, is a delusion supported by intentional ignorance of the empirical evidences of the Cosmos.

Colossians 1;16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions(lords), or principalities(ranking), or powers(authority): all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist(sustained).

In this, we see His great thoughts and deep love He has for us. Ps 139:17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
