Reject the lie! The ulimate romantic lie is the idea that any person can ever fulfill the absence of the creator.  No human relationship, in a God vacuum, will ever result in contentment.  It is unfair, foolish and naive to expect a human to replace the Almighty.  God(love) is the third party, which is the essence, who makes “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part” achievable.  Marriage is a triad!   Don’t deceive yourself by thinking it is just between the two of you!

RomanceRealize, it is not a “give and take “, but an offer and receive relationship.  There is a world of difference between the two.  Throughout history, God has illustrated how to offer and receive.  We worship Him through imitating his holiness.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.   Matt 22:37-39

If your mate doesn’t fall into the neighbor grouping, I don’t know who does.

It is not without reason, that it is called Holy Matrimony.  Don’t leave God out!  Marriage needs God.

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.  Heb 13:4

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.  Mt 19:6

Remember, it is not about satisfaction, gratification or fulfillment, but contentment!  Are you content in God's leadership and plan for your life or are you looking for the next thing with lusting eyes and longing flesh?

But godliness with contentment is  great gain. 1Ti 6:6

Trust in the LORD with all thine  heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Pr 3:5-6
