Matthew 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

We seem to apply such promises to important  things and often overlook the little ways that God fulfils his promises.

Much has transpired since out last letter.  We celebrated our oldest daughter, Samantha, becoming an adult in a coming of age ceremony to which  her friends and teachers from school were invited.  After preaching about the crowns awarded to believers, while stressing salvation, Chelli and I challenged Samantha to be the woman that God has designed her to be.  These challenges were tailored to her gifts and personality.  We presented her with a beautiful cloak and crown.

Luther’s Wedding festival presented us with many opportunities to share the Gospel.  During the three days we passed out tracts, DVDs, pamphlets and books.  The most exciting aspect is the many opportunities to share the gospel personally when people stop and enter out booth.

My hospital ministry continues to be a source of encouragement every week.  The energy and excitement that sharing Christ with souls looking into the eyes of mortality is spiritually refreshing every time.  There is nothing like evangelism!

Chelli’s English teaching continues to open doors and build our network here in Wittenberg and the region.  The parents of two of her students have visited the services this summer.

I love cherries.  I like them fresh, in pie, jam, cobbler, yogurt…you name it.  We have experienced years when we waited for our cherries to become ripe, only to have the birds clean the tree of cherries in no time at all.  This year the tree was full, but it was ripening right at the time of the city festival.  I thought, "O well.  The birds will get them."  With such a resolve, we started off to the festival.  The following Monday, after returning the rented trailer,  I picked the nicest ripened cherries.  It was like God had told the birds to leave our tree alone!  He keeps his promises even in the small things.

Thanks to a generous church, my part of the surgery bills from spring are all covered!

Our car has needed some repairs, but thankfully I was able to initiate the repairs myself.  The end costs were $140.  They consisted of two front stabilizers and the windshield washer pump.  Our desktop and my laptop needed some repair. A generous friend did it all for the price of the parts.  The total of the two computer repairs was $229.  Our car’s exhaust is leaking and there is that looming weak clutch thing, but God’s blessings always overshadow our needs.

Thanks so much for your support!
