Our church is working through the Gospel of John. We are in the 16th chapter and we are having a blast. The people are getting excited and involved in witnessing.

Our prayer and testimony times on Sundays are becoming about outreach rather that the typical, "I have a need" session. This last Sunday one of our ladies testified of how God had given her opportunity to communicate her faith to co-workers.   Skyler testified how God had blessed the first meeting of the Bible study he started with young people from his school.

In the preceding weeks, books about evangelism and methods have been mentioned by people in spontaneous post-service discussions. It is so exciting to see God move his people to witness. It is especially encouraging, when they do it without human prodding. To see faith lived in the lives of others is always the passion of a servant of God. No human deed can be more affirming than to see the flock follow "the Shepherd."

As we have been enjoying John, our key verse has been John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. We have read this verse at the beginning of almost every service since starting John. It is transforming our thinking. As a church, we are refocusing on personal evangelism.

I have started journaling about my witnessing opportunities. I have also encouraged our people to write out their salvation testimony and to keep some kind of record of their witnessing. Journaling about witnessing identifies how much of your life is about the goal of God which in turn motivates and encourages to refocus on evangelism.

We have reserved our plane tickets for our furlough this summer. For our family of 6, the total this time around is $7,025. More than half of that cost has been paid for by our furlough savings account, but as you can imagine, with the rising travel costs, there is still a bit more to be covered. If you feel God leading you or your church to help with this need, please contact us.

We are also planning our furlough schedule and have some appointments still available. We will be in Ohio in July and Iowa in August, as well as travelling the roads which connect the two. We are specifically in need of presenting our ministry to new churches that would be interested in investing in souls in Germany. If you or someone you know would like to join our support team, please contact us about a summer 2013 appointment.

With much thanks,

Paul Sudbrock
